3. To simulate real-world HR challenges in hiring and provide experiential learning to build confidence and proficiency in handling recruitment scenarios.

The HR Club of Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School organized a Role Play activity on “Recruitment and Selection” as part of its experiential learning initiatives. The session aimed to provide students with a practical understanding of how recruitment processes are conducted in organizations, from job analysis to final selection.

Participants were divided into groups representing recruiters, interview panelists, and job applicants. Each group enacted real-world scenarios including resume shortlisting, conducting interviews, evaluating candidate competencies, and making hiring decisions. This interactive activity enabled students to experience both sides of the recruitment table while applying HR concepts learned in class.

The role play emphasized key skills such as questioning techniques, candidate evaluation, communication, and teamwork. It also highlighted the importance of fair selection practices, ethical interviewing, and aligning candidate skills with organizational needs. Faculty mentors provided constructive feedback on participants’ performance, focusing on improving interviewing skills and decision-making abilities.

The activity not only enhanced students’ practical knowledge but also boosted their confidence in handling recruitment situations. Overall, the Role Play on Recruitment and Selection was an engaging and insightful exercise, reinforcing HR fundamentals while encouraging critical thinking and application.
